Fiberglass Fence Installation Step-by-Step Guide:
Plan Fence size and prepare materials,
Depending on the length and locations of the fence, lay out every fiberglass fence board and every support post position: reserve entrance and exit, passageway. Mark the position of column piling construction.
Ground leveling pretreatment
Remove debris: Remove ground gravel, weeds, water, oil, etc., to ensure a clean work surface.
Hard ground (cement/tile): Repair cracks or depressions and fill them with cement mortar. Use an electric drill and a concrete drill to drill holes. The hole diameter must be greater than 5 to 10mm in diameter of the column, and the depth must be 1/3 of the height of the column (for example, a 20cm deep hole is required for a 60cm column).
Soft ground (land/grassland: compacted soil, can lay a 10-15cm gravel layer to enhance the bearing capacity. Dig a square or round pit; the depth is recommended to be ≥50cm. The width is 2-3 times the diameter of the column for pouring a concrete foundation.
Measurement and pay-off: Using the ink line to mark the guardrail direction and column position according to the design drawings or actual needs.
Vertical calibration: Use a level to ensure the marks are aligned vertically to avoid tilting after installation.
Fix the fiberglass posts.
Option 1: for a lightweight fence
Place 2–3 inches of gravel at the bottom of each hole to improve drainage and prevent water from pooling around the post.
Insert the fiberglass posts into the holes. Backfill the sand, sound stomp it down, or pour mixed concrete to fix the fiberglass posts.
Option 2: A rigid fiberglass fence
Fix the fiberglass poles in the hole. Then pour mixed concrete into the hole around the post, keeping the post at its exact position and perpendicularity. Leave a slight slope at the top to direct water away from the post. Allow the concrete to cure for 24–48 hours.
Option 3: Harden ground fence
Install chemical anchors or expansion bolts in the drilling holes, insert them into the posts, and secure them tightly. For metal parts, insert anti-rust oil into the hole or apply epoxy resin to prevent rust.
Tips: Use a level to ensure the posts are plumb (vertically straight) and adjust as needed.
Temporarily brace the posts with wooden stakes or supports to keep them in place while you work.
Attach Fence Panels
Once the posts are set and secure, attach the fiberglass fence panels to the posts.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for attaching the panels. This may involve using brackets, screws, or other fasteners.
Ensure the panels are level and properly aligned with each other.
